`Series` maps a path `<`

*x y z*`>`

that begins with a
positive integer *x* followed by two signed integers, *y* and
*z*, to a path that begins with a sequence of *z* integers
whose first element is *x* and whose increment is *y*.
`Series` fails if the first three elements of the path are not as
described.
